What this website collects, why, and what you can ask for. Plain and short.
Who we are
Ascend Automation is operated by Rob Blackwood, sole proprietor, Vernon, B.C. For any privacy question, email rob@ascendautomation.ca or call or text 778-212-2085.
The "Not ready for a call?" note form
- It collects your email address and your message.
- They are sent by email to Rob only, and used only to reply to you.
- Notes arrive in Rob's business email, hosted by Google Workspace, which may store data outside Canada. Rob keeps notes for up to 12 months, then deletes them, unless you become a client.
- You are not added to any mailing list. Your details are not shared or sold.
- To stop spam, the form keeps a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address for 10 minutes, then deletes it.
- You can ask Rob to delete your note at any time.
Booking a call
Booking is handled by Calendly, a third-party scheduling service, under Calendly's own privacy policy. Calendly loads only after you interact with the page.
Opening the booking calendar loads Calendly's scheduler and services Calendly uses. When we tested it on October 19, 2026 these included Google reCAPTCHA, Stripe, Google Analytics, a Meta (Facebook) pixel, Segment, OneTrust and Airbrake, and some of them load before you answer Calendly's cookie choice. Calendly may record how you use its scheduler, and this data may be processed outside Canada. Calendly's privacy policy applies to it. If you'd rather avoid this, email Rob instead and he'll find a time with you.
Cookies, analytics and fonts
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Its fonts are served from this website. It loads nothing from other companies until you interact with the page. From your first tap, click, key press or scroll, it fetches Calendly's small booking script in the background so the calendar opens quickly. Calendly's scheduler and the services listed in the booking section above load only when you open the booking calendar.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Rob at rob@ascendautomation.ca. Rob will reply to a privacy request within 30 days, as Canadian privacy law requires.
